Job description

The Financial Planning and Analysis Senior Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for providing management with an analysis and insight of Citi's financial results in coordination with the broader Finance team. The overall objective is to contribute to directional strategy as well as utilize in-depth specialty knowledge to provide advice/counsel on the evaluation of financial reports of Citi's current and projected performance.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead creation of Citi financial reports and liaise with finance teams to provide a summary of financial trends and insight to senior management
  • Lead analysis of forecasts, strategic and operating plans, and create monthly outlooks in partnership with segment, business, and country financial planning and analysis teams
  • Prepare analytics in support of CEO Reviews including business initiatives
  • Lead analysis of Citigroup's product profitability
  • Develop relationships with key partners and senior management to influence behavior and decision making
  • Prepare presentations and analysis for the team and in support of the CFO
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience within financial services
  • Experience providing financial analysis for monthly forecasts, strategic multi-year forecasts, and annual budgets
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge in additional systems including Oracle, Essbase, and SAP
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the role will be to support the Balance Sheet Loans Wealth Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team with the performance of key activities (as described below).

The Balance Sheet FP&A team is an integral part of the larger Global FP&A team. The Financial Planning and Analysis C14 SVP is a senior professional role responsible for providing management with an analysis and insight of Citi's financial results in coordination with the broader finance team. The role is within the Balance Sheet Loans Wealth FP&A team, and requires in-depth understanding of forward-looking processes (planning, outlook, CCAR/QMMF, etc.) The overall objective is to contribute to directional strategy as well as utilize in-depth specialty knowledge to provide advice/counsel on the evaluation of financial reports of Citi's current and projected performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute analysis of annual 3-year strategic/operating plans, CCAR PPNR forecasts, QMMF, and quarterly outlooks in partnership with finance and business organizations.
  • Role is key contact person for seniors in finance, business, larger balance sheet and Wealth EDS FP&A teams for all activities related to lending products for Wealth business
  • Analyse key products within Wealth Loans, namely Mortgages, Securities Backed Lending, Cards Loan, Structured Finance etc and key client segments, Citi Private Bank, Wealth at Work and Citigold.
  • Responsible for consolidation of Total Lending products across Wealth business for senior management reviews.
  • Manage NII/NIR P&L and loans balance sheet for outlook, plan, CCAR / QMMF across segments, coordinate across LFO teams for overlays on model runs, forecast workshops, and overall product dynamics.
  • Prepare MRM documentation across segments / products working with LFO teams for overlays, model management.
  • Create financial reports and meet with finance team to clearly summarize financial trends and provide insight to senior management.
  • Develop and deliver financial analysis supporting various business initiatives.
  • Work with CFO and model development team on model convergence efforts
  • Build excellent relationship across finance, controllers, and business organizations.
  • Responsible to collect & review inputs received from various teams and challenge them if necessary/required.
  • Establish strong relationships and leverage them to seamlessly overcome challenges and meet business needs across finance and business organizations.
  • Drive FP&A transformation efforts as part of continuous process improvements
  • Drive finance initiatives effectively
  • Work with multiple teams based out of NY, Mumbai and Costa Rica.
