Job description

The IT Security organization partners closely with technology and business leaders to protect the organization while enabling innovation and growth. As a 1st Line function, we focus on delivering and operating security capabilities aligned to enterprise priorities.

As the Senior Manager, Security Strategy & Execution, you will shape and drive the enterprise security roadmap, translating evolving threats and business needs into actionable initiatives. This role sits at the intersection ofstrategy, program leadership, and execution, partnering across IT and business teams to move key security priorities forward. This is a forward-looking role focused less on hands-on engineering and more ondriving outcomes, alignment, and progress across security initiatives. The role may also evolve to include team leadership responsibilities. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which will include multiple initiatives as assigned by IT leadership.

This role is hybrid (Mon through Thu on-site / Fri remote) at the UMB Technology & Operations Center located in downtown Kansas City, MO.

How you will spend your time:

  • Partner with IT and business leaders todefine and execute security strategy and roadmap priorities.
  • Translate risk insights and emerging threats intoclear, actionable security initiatives.
  • Leadplanning, coordination, and execution trackingacross key security efforts.
  • Driveprogram structure and visibility, including roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and reporting.
  • Support initiatives across areas such as:
    • Identity and access management
    • Cloud and infrastructure security
    • Secure access / network security evolution
  • Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams toembed security into technology initiatives.
  • Identify capability gaps and help shapemulti-year plans and investment priorities.
  • Develop and trackprogram metricsto measure progress and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to improvingsecurity operating models and ways of working.
  • Mentor team members and support team growth as needed.

We are excited to talk if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 10 years of technical work experience including at least 6 years of management experience. OR equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience across cybersecurity, IT, or related roles.
  • Experience insecurity strategy, program leadership, or large-scale initiative delivery.
  • Strong understanding of core security domains (identity, cloud, network, data).
  • Ability totranslate complex problems into structured, executable plans.
  • Proven ability tolead through influenceacross technical and business teams.
  • Experience buildingroadmaps, business cases, and strategic plans.
  • Strong communication skills, including experience working with senior leadership.

Bonus Points if you have:

  • Experience withZero Trust / SASE, cloud security, or identity modernization initiatives.
  • Background in financial services or other complex environments.
  • Experience in consulting, transformation, or enterprise strategy roles.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar.
  • Experience leading or mentoring teams.

Targeted compensation for this opening: The posted salary range reflects the broadest standard range for this role, including all locations. The anticipated compensation for this specific position is $165,000 - 180,000. This role is also eligible for annual incentive pay.


Compensation Ranges:

US Employees in California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York:

$120,750 - $189,000

US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin:

$110,250 - $173,030

US Employees in all other states not listed above:

$99,750 - $157,060
