Job description

Experienced Network Cabling Technician to support network infrastructure, facilities operations, and site security. If you excel at racking/stacking, cable patching, troubleshooting, and IP phone support, this role puts your hands-on skills to work every day.
Location: San Fancisco, CA
Traveling: 2-hour radius
Pay: $28/HR
Responsibilities:
  • Rack, stack, patch, and troubleshoot network devices.

  • Install and de-install switches, routers, phones, and related hardware.

  • Support Cisco & Avaya IP phone installs, programming, and troubleshooting.

  • Perform physical layer diagnostics using Sniffers, BERT, cable/fiber testers.

  • Complete MAC (Move/Add/Change) requests within SLA.

  • Support carrier circuit testing and backup connectivity checks.

  • Assist with facilities tasks: UPS restoral, cooling issues, water events, fire suppression activities.

  • Manage inventory: receiving, tagging, tracking spares, returning damaged equipment.

  • Communicate clearly with customers and act as onsite interface with management.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in data communications.

  • Strong experience in communications closets and rack/cabinet work.

  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN basics, Cisco phones/switches/routers.

  • Familiarity with 66/110 blocks and crossconnect procedures.

  • Ability to lift heavy equipment safely.
