Make a Difference

As a member of the Unified Network Engineering team, provides management, support and participates in upgrade activities for Cisco network systems and Cisco Unified Communications platforms. A Sr Unified Network Engineer may begin to specialize in either network or UC systems but continues to support all systems and platforms. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, upgrades and maintains network, telephony and conferencing devices and systems. Participates in enterprise design and future planning sessions with Network and Unified Communications Architects. Interacts with vendors on support cases. Mentors Engineers and Analysts. This role requires participation in on-call rotation and traveling to various CHNw sites.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in communications technology or its equivalent preferred.
  • Five (5) years or more years’ experience in Networking, Unified Communications and related technologies required.
  • Must obtain Cisco Unified Communications Certification or Cisco Certified Network Associate within 18 months of hire.
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills and a commitment to excellence.
  • Firm understanding of Microsoft Desktop and Server operating systems.
  • Firm understanding of networking principles to include functional understanding of TCP/IP, IP sub-netting, VLANs, Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, SIP and QoS.
  • Solid understanding and experience with Cisco Unified Communications systems like CUCM, SME, UCCE/UCCX, IM&P, Unity, Webex, CUBE.
  • Solid understanding and experience with cisco switching/routing technologies and systems like switches, routers, IOS, VTP, STP, Ether channel, EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP.
  • Understanding of virtual server environments.
  • Natural leadership skills, enjoys helping others sharpen and expand their skill sets.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks competently.
