Job description

The Army Communications Network Trainer will travel up to 50% (CONUS/OCONUS) to provide new equipment installation, field and classroom training, and field operations support for the communications network that provides the Army Warfighter with voice, data and video capabilities for use in a tactical environment while temporarily halted, known as At The Quick Halt. 
Equipment includes: Unit Hub Node, Regional Hub Node, Single Shelter Switch (SSS), Joint Network Nodes (JNN), Battalion Command Post Nodes (BnCPN), Network Operations (NetOps), JNN and BnCPN Satellite Transportable Terminals (STTs), and  Master Reference Terminals (MRTs).
You will support the integrations team, focusing on programming, configuring, and validating end-user networking equipment. 
Training for the ATQH network, previously known as Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) Increment 1, involves instructing personnel on technical networking, routing protocols, and satellite communications. 
A qualified candidate must have prior experience providing classroom training in Cisco devices and networking topics to students, some with minimal network knowledge, others who are network engineers. Prior experience as a baseband instructor or network operations instructor is a good fit.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in both field and classroom training, new equipment and field operations support in Cisco devices and networks.
  • Proficiency in routers, gateways and Cisco devices. e.g. configuring and troubleshooting OSPF, DMVPN, and Multicast.
  • Willing to accept a salary between 70-83k
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Ability to work onsite in Ft. Hood, TX and travel up to 50% (CONUS/OCONUS)
