About this Job LSU Shreveport is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Repairer Master in the Facility Services department. This role is responsible for performing advanced, skilled maintenance and repair work across multiple trades to ensure campus facilities and systems operate safely and efficiently. Minimum Qualifications One year of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience: Three years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Troubleshoots and repairs the campus wide water system including circulation pumps, hot water heaters, toilets, urinals, sinks, water foundations, irrigation systems and drain lines.
Troubleshoots and determines the cause of equipment breakdowns and extent of repairs needed. Oversees work assigned to personnel working in the shop maintenance area. Example: Provides guidance, supplies and leadership by setting the pace for assigned projects, in order to meet deadlines.
Developing braces or brackets has needed by machining or welding parts that are used for installation of fans, pumps, or other equipment. Example: rebuilding and re-piping a circulation pump that is used for an Olympic size swimming pool. Works with contractual employees such as plumbers or roofers to inspect and approve work provided by contractors.
Surveys the work being performed to ensure that sufficient and proper materials are available for completion of work. Examples: Plumbers, Roofers, Glass Installers or Locksmiths.
