Position Summary

SpringHill Suites Tampa North/I-75 Tampa Palms is seeking a dependable and hardworking Laundry Attendant to support our Housekeeping operation.

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for washing, drying, folding, sorting, and organizing hotel linens and towels. This position plays an important role in ensuring the Housekeeping team has a consistent supply of clean, high-quality linens to prepare guest rooms.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Sort soiled linens and towels according to established procedures.
  • Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely.
  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel linens, towels, and other washable items.
  • Inspect clean items for stains, damage, or excessive wear.
  • Rewash stained items when appropriate and remove damaged linens from circulation.
  • Maintain established linen quality and productivity standards.
  • Stock, organize, and distribute clean linens to designated storage areas.
  • Assist with collecting soiled linens and delivering clean supplies as needed.
  • Measure and use laundry chemicals according to safety instructions.
  • Maintain the laundry room, equipment, floors, work surfaces, and storage areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Clean lint traps and complete routine equipment care as directed.
  • Report equipment problems, supply shortages, safety hazards, or damaged items promptly.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, infection-control, and chemical-handling procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with Housekeeping and hotel leadership to meet daily linen needs.
  • Assist with additional Housekeeping duties when operationally necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous commercial laundry, hotel housekeeping, or similar experience is preferred but not required.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and physically active environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and safely operate laundry equipment.
  • Must have weekend availability.
  • Must be available to work the typical schedule of 8:00 a.m.4:30 p.m.
  • Schedule and weekly hours may vary based on hotel occupancy and business demand.
Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Regularly lift, carry, load, and unload linens weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance when appropriate.
  • Push and maneuver laundry carts and linen bins.
  • Work in a warm environment around commercial laundry equipment.
  • Work with laundry chemicals and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Perform physically active work throughout the scheduled shift.
