Pay: The annual base salary range for this position is $139,600 โ€“ $278,300; final offer will consider scope and responsibilities of the role, candidateโ€™s experience, education/training, key skills, and market and business factors. POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is for an experienced Circuit Design Engineer V, Avionics working on the development of sophisticated, state?of?the?art avionics products in a world?class integrated product development environment. The position focuses on end?to?end development of complex digital avionics hardware and circuit card assemblies (CCAs), from initial requirements and architecture through detailed design, analysis, simulation, integration, and test. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Perform digital avionics and CCA design activities across the full lifecycle, including requirements review, architecture definition, detailed circuit design, analysis, simulation, and test.
Develop avionics circuit board and CCA designs using HDL?based components and discrete digital devices, ensuring performance, reliability, and interface compliance for mission?critical applications.
Support and participate in technical reviews, preparing and delivering design artifacts and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
Interface closely with verification, systems, and test teams to ensure design intent is fully verified, validated, and integrated, and to drive timely closure of technical issues.
Contribute to architecture decisions, design trade studies, and design documentation to support qualification, certification, and mission assurance needs.
Support lab integration and troubleshooting of avionics hardware as needed, including hands?on work with digital boards and test equipment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Extensive professional experience in digital circuit and avionics hardware design (typically 8+ years).
Hands?on HDL experience with one or more of: VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog, used in support of digital hardware design and implementation.
Experience with digital electronics design tools and workflows, including schematic capture, simulation, and design analysis.
Experience developing avionics or other mission?critical hardware in a structured engineering environment and collaborating within integrated product teams.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Experience across the digital hardware lifecycle, including architecture, design, simulation, verification, validation, integration, and test.
Experience with avionics?class electronics and familiarity with lab integration, environmental test, and troubleshooting methods for complex digital hardware.
Understanding of board? and CCA?level design considerations such as timing, signal integrity, power distribution, and reliability for harsh environments.
Familiarity with modern EDA tools and configuration or issue?tracking systems used in hardware development.
Experience mentoring junior engineers and providing technical leadership within a project or functional team.
