Job description

Apex is seeking a Project Manager/Industrial Hygienist to be based in Bend, OR.ย 

Your Responsibilities as a Project Manager - Industrial Hygiene:

  • Manage and execute building science and industrial hygiene projects, including indoor air quality assessments, moisture intrusion investigations, mold evaluations, asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, and occupational exposure assessments.ย 
  • Conduct field investigations and collect environmental samples including air, bulk, surface wipe, and water samplesย utilizingย industry-standard protocols.ย 
  • Analyze field data, interpret laboratory results, and develop practical recommendations to address building performance, occupant health, and regulatory compliance concerns.ย 
  • Prepare technical reports, work plans, corrective action recommendations, and client deliverables with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.ย 
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and client communications to ensure successful project execution.ย 
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, laboratories, and field staff as needed.ย 
  • Support business development efforts through proposal preparation, client relationship management, and identification ofย additionalย service opportunities.ย 
  • Mentor junior staff andย provideย technical guidance on field investigations, sampling methodologies, and report preparation.ย 
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including industrial hygienists, environmental scientists, engineers, architects, contractors, and facility managers.ย 
  • Actively pursue professional development opportunities and stay current on industry standards, regulations, and emerging building science and industrial hygiene practices.ย 

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrialย Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Scienceย or related field.ย 
  • 8+ years of experience managing building science, industrial hygiene, environmental health and safety, or related consulting projects.ย 
  • Experience conducting indoor air quality assessments, moisture and mold investigations, asbestos and lead inspections, occupational exposure monitoring, or related services.ย 
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, AHERA, NIOSH, and applicable state and local regulations.ย 
  • Professional certifications such as CIH, CSP, CMC, CAC, CDPH, AHERA Inspector, or Project Designer are preferred but notย required.ย 
  • Strong technical writing, project management, and client communication skills.ย 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.ย 
  • Commitment to safety and a strong understanding of safe work practices.ย 
  • Valid driver's license withย a good drivingย record.ย 
  • Proficiencyย with Microsoft Office Suite and standard environmental data management and reporting tools.ย
