Communications & Creative Support Coordinator
Position Summary
The Communications & Creative Support Coordinator (CCSC) serves as a key connection between ministry teams and the front-facing communication efforts of Heights Church. This position supports ministry teams by helping develop and execute clear, consistent, and engaging communication across digital, visual, social, and email channels.
Working closely with the Communications Director and Project Coordinator, the CCSC contributes to ministry-wide communication initiatives, provides design support, and leads the planning and execution of social media and email communication. With a high degree of independence, this role ensures communication efforts align with the mission, values, visual standards, and evolving needs of Heights Church.
Schedule & Reporting
CCSC works Weekdays, Weekends and Holidays as needed
CCSC reports to the Communications Director
Communications
  • Contribute to the development and execution of ministry-wide communication projects
  • Partner with ministry teams to clarify communication needs, audiences, priorities, and desired outcomes
  • Develop and refine language for ministry initiatives, registrations, events, and organizational communication
  • Review communication across the website, Heights App, Church Center, email, social media, and other public-facing channels to maintain clarity and consistency
  • Support ministry teams with communication standards and best practices
  • Help translate ministry goals and information into communication that is clear, engaging, and accessible
  • Maintain consistency in the voice, tone, and messaging of Heights Church
  • Coordinate communication details and deliverables with the Project Coordinator to support timely execution

Social Media Management
  • Lead the planning, management, and execution of Heights Church social media communication
  • Develop and maintain a social media content calendar aligned with church-wide priorities, ministry initiatives, events, and teaching collections
  • Write, edit, schedule, and publish social media content across designated platforms
  • Coordinate the development of photography, video, graphics, and written content needed for social media
  • Identify and share stories that give a window in to the mission, values, and ministry impact of Heights Church
  • Maintain consistency in brand standards, voice, tone, and visual presentation across social platforms
  • Monitor engagement and performance to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Adapt social media plans based on platform trends, audience response, organizational priorities, and ministry needs
  • Support timely social media communication during significant church events, announcements, and organizational updates

Email Strategy & Management
  • Lead the planning, management, and execution of church-wide email communication
  • Develop and maintain an email communication calendar aligned with ministry priorities and organizational rhythms
  • Write, edit, build, schedule, and review emails before distribution
  • Develop email strategies that provide the right information to the right audiences at the right time
  • Coordinate email content, calls to action, supporting graphics, links, and registration information
  • Maintain consistency in the voice, tone, visual presentation, and structure of email communication
  • Evaluate email performance, including engagement and response, and use those insights to improve future communication
  • Help establish healthy email rhythms that communicate effectively without unnecessarily overwhelming recipients
  • Partner with the Systems Support Coordinator to ensure audience structures, integrations, lists, and system functionality support effective email delivery

Design Support
  • Provide design support to ministry teams by adapting existing assets and creating new designs within established visual standards
  • Develop graphics and supporting visual materials for events, ministries, social media, email, digital platforms, print materials, and other communication needs
  • Maintain consistency with the visual identity and brand standards of Heights Church
  • Prepare design assets in the appropriate formats and dimensions for each communication channel
  • Review completed materials for visual consistency, accuracy, and quality
  • Work closely with the Project Coordinator to maintain timelines for communication strategies and creative deliverables
  • Help organize and maintain shared creative assets, templates, and design resources

Front-Facing Ministry Support
  • Build and maintain strong communication with ministry teams to support the effective promotion and execution of programs and events
  • Provide hands-on communication and creative support for ministry initiatives across multiple Heights locations
  • Proactively engage ministry teams in their environments to gain firsthand insight, build trust, gather stories, and provide informed support
  • Identify opportunities to improve the experience of guests, partners, and attendees through thoughtful front-facing communication

Creativity
  • Proactively grow in creative disciplines that inform and elevate the effectiveness of church communication
  • Bring creative ideas and solutions to ministry communication opportunities and challenges
  • Remain attentive to communication, design, social media, email, and storytelling practices that could benefit Heights Church
  • Contribute to a collaborative creative environment through ideas, feedback, experimentation, and continued learning
  • Use creativity to help people more clearly understand, engage with, and respond to the mission and ministries of Heights Church

Collaboration
  • Partner with the Systems Support Coordinator when communication initiatives require registrations, forms, audience structures, integrations, or other back-end system support
  • Collaborate with the Project Coordinator to establish priorities, timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables
  • Work closely with the Communications Director to ensure communication strategies and creative work align with the broader direction of Heights Church

Qualifications and Skills Experience
  • Leadership Driven Ownership- leading or coordinating the work of others (formal team leadership experience preferred).
  • Portfolio showcasing experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Immediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook),
  • Experience with Church Center (PCO), and other church management software.
  • Handles sensitive and confidential information with the utmost care.
  • Detail-obsessed executor - Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
