The Vice President provides strategic and tactical leadership to the Church Relations team, structuring and directing a field and home office staff, guiding them in developing, nurturing, and expanding relationships between the Board of Pensions and church and church-related employers for the purpose of promotion and interpretation of benefits. As a member of the Church Engagement team, contributes to the overall engagement of prospects and customers to meet the business goals and objectives of the Board of Pensions.
What you will do:
- Provides effective leadership to the Church Relations team by managing individual performance, providing coaching, feedback, and accountability, and ensuring the team's continued professional development.
- As a member of the Church Engagement leadership team, provide leadership and support to the team's overall goals and objectives, strategic planning and development, and change management as a learning organization.
- Influences strategy and contributes to long term organizational strategy by reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors and its committees periodically about the church and the relationships between the Board of Pensions and the church.
- Responsible for annual budget planning and managing to financial goals.
- Ensures consistent customer experience by collaborating with the National Sales, Marketing and Communications, and Plan Operations teams in support of long-term relationship management.
- Represents the Board of Pensions to the church by maintaining dynamic and strong partnerships across the church and within the organization.
- Informs senior management by gathering and integrating information about the state of the church and its ministers.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- A demonstrated to effectively hire, lead, motivate, and develop staff.
- Deep understanding of pastoral vocation and congregational life; PC(USA) ordination.
- Strong organization skills, a strong sense of accountability and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to navigate, manage, and lead organizational change.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Strong problem-solving, and organizational skills; excellent presentation and delivery skills.
- An ability to connect benefits and compensation conversations with the Reformed faith and to translate church language to benefits language and back.
- Annual budgeting, planning, and forecasting.
- An ability to develop and nurture productive, long-term relationships.
