Start Date:2026-2027 School Year

Position: 5th Grade Teacher Science/Social Studies

  • Regular duties and responsibilities include:
    • Providing engaging and challenging instruction in assigned content area
    • Using a variety of instructional strategies for students with different learning styles and needs, including small group instruction and differentiated lessons
    • Creates a classroom environment that promotes learning and fosters age-appropriate growth and development for all students
    • Manages the classroom behavior of all students according to classroom rules and student handbook
    • Creating and posting lesson plans on a consistent basis
    • Maintaining an accurate and up to date grade book, providing students and parents with real time feedback on learning
    • Assessing student learning through a variety of methods including formative and summative assessments
    • Communicating with parents to inform them of student progress, including written, phone, or face to face conferencing as needed
    • Sending home a weekly newsletter updating parents on classroom projects, assessments, and other special class or grade level events
    • Participating in meaningful professional development opportunities as coordinated by the CCS Administrative Team
    • Attending, supporting or sponsoring extracurricular activities and clubs as assigned
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Administrative Team including lunch, recess, and carline

  • Physical requirements include:
    • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching
    • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
    • Ability to clearly communicate with students, parents, and staff 
    • Ability to travel to and from the workplace

  • Required qualifications include:
    • Belief in Jesus Christ and status as saved Christian in accordance with the Christian faith and the mission of CCS
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in field
    • Ability to effectively communicate (written, oral) in standard English
       
  • Preferred qualifications include:
    • State certification in elementary education (K5-5th)
    • Previous teaching experience at the elementary level
