Entity: The Christian Family Centre

Reports to: Fitness & Wellness Manager

ABOUT US.

Lenawee Christian Ministries provides Christ-centered education, spiritual development, and wellness services to the Lenawee County community, centered around Jesus Christ. The ministry is made up of two operating entities: Lenawee Christian School and the Christian Family Centre, located in Adrian, MI.

  • Lenawee Christian School exists in partnership with the family and church to integrate Biblical truth for life with a commitment to glorifying Jesus Christ through academic excellence and spiritual maturity.
  • The Christian Family Centre is a world-class fitness and family activity facility that strives to assist families and individuals grow in their physical, social, and spiritual wellness with Jesus Christ being the center.

POSITION SUMMARY.

The Personal Trainer is responsible for designing and delivering safe, effective, and individualized exercise programs tailored to clients’ fitness levels, goals, and health considerations. This role supports members in achieving strength, endurance, mobility, and overall wellness while modeling professionalism and Christ-centered character. Personal Trainers are expected to maintain high safety standards, provide accountability and encouragement, and contribute to the growth and retention of personal training services at the Centre.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.

Client Programming & Instruction

  • Conduct fitness assessments and develop individualized training programs based on client goals and abilities.
  • Instruct clients on proper exercise technique, form, and equipment usage.
  • Monitor sessions closely to ensure participant safety and injury prevention.
  • Adjust programming as needed to promote measurable progress and continued improvement.
  • Track client progress and maintain accurate training documentation.

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain current CPR/AED certification and required professional credentials.
  • Follow all Centre policies, procedures, and emergency response protocols.
  • Ensure training areas remain clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to participant concerns or medical situations within scope of certification.

Client Engagement & Growth

  • Provide encouragement, accountability, and education to promote sustainable lifestyle habits.
  • Build professional, appropriate relationships with clients.
  • Promote personal training services and support member retention and engagement efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Fitness & Wellness Manager on program development and service improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS.

Christian Faith & Character

  • Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • Exhibit a consistent Christian testimony and adherence to biblical principles in personal and professional life.
  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity, humility, and a strong commitment to excellence and servant leadership

Education, Certification & Experience

  • Current Personal Training Certification from a nationally recognized organization (e.g., ACE, NASM, NSCA, AFAA).
  • Current CPR/AED certification required.
  • Prior personal training experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, dependable, and passionate about helping others achieve wellness goals.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS.

  • This is a part-time, non-exempt W-2 position.
  • Work hours vary based on client scheduling and program demand.
  • Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining required certifications and adherence to Centre policies.
