Software Systems Administrator


Job Summary

The Software Systems Administrator will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Strategic Initiatives and will support the ministry of CCA by providing all Software Systems support necessary for the operations of a K-12 school. Support includes but is not limited to, user account management, user training and development, helpdesk, and system design for admissions, academics, athletics, events, etc. He or she will seek to perform all duties as unto the Lord, relying on the Holy Spirit for guidance, and completing all tasks with excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of experience in related field required
  • Database, Canvas LMS, or software systems experience required; experience with software systems in a school environment preferred

Work Hours / Travel

Job Functions and Tasks

Essential Functions

  • Support, customize, and structure school systems as directed by the Strategic Initiatives Director in collaboration with the CCA Administrators
  • Learn all existing and future features of the School Systems to consistently provide necessary functionality to school end users
  • Manage all user accounts, including onboarding, offboarding, permissions, password resets, and role transfers
  • Monitor access controls, prevent unauthorized changes, and address data breaches
  • In collaboration with IT Team, develop data security protocols to manage data integrity, provide data backups, and safeguard information
  • Develop standards and guidelines for the use of student information systems to protect vulnerable information
  • Develop, document, and improve system workflows, procedures, testing standards, and quality controls to support school operations and adapt to changing needs.
  • Analyze and maintain system structures and workflows for admissions, enrollment, academic records, scheduling, assessments, and reporting processes.
  • Review procedures in student information system manuals to make changes to databases
  • Test and implement system enhancements, updates, and feature additions based on user feedback for continuous improvement
  • Train new end users on basic system functionality how to use systems effectively; plan and conduct continuous education training sessions for staff with training documentation
  • Gather and submit feedback, address functionality limitations, and advocate for user requirements on behalf of users with Veracross Helpdesk and Development teams
  • Communicate system interruptions and/or system modifications to users as necessary
  • Provide technical assistance to end users, troubleshoot issues, and resolve system malfunctions in collaboration with Software Support teams
  • Coordinate and integrate other technology solutions to allow seamless transfer of information
