Job description

Title:Event Care Staff


Purpose:Parkview Kids partners with parents in teaching their children about Jesus and modeling what it means to live out the way of Jesus in the world. Our event care staff assists in accomplishing this by caring for children in a safe loving environment during adult events.

Essential Responsibilities


The selected candidate will engage in aspects of event care including:


Personal Development:


  • Attend periodic training meetings for equipping and team-building
  • Continually develop skills to make children feel safe, cared for and welcomed


Ministry Development:


  • Care for children during event care including facilitating crafts/games and monitoring play/interaction
  • Provide for the physical needs of children during the event care including serving snacks, diapering, toilet assistance, comforting and other care as needed
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for children by following all safety guidelines, encouraging children in safe play and cleaning toys/materials as directed



Requirements(Specific degrees, certifications, skills, experience desired)


General:


  • Self motivated, servant leader, teachable, flexible, enthusiastic, emotionally intelligent, humble


Competencies:


  • Experienced in caring for young children in a church setting
  • Knowledge of early childhood development
  • Solid interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Ability to lift a child or infant (up to 25 lbs.) repeatedly during a 3 hour period of time
  • Ability to stand continuously for up to 3 hours at a time
  • A successful criminal background check and reference checks



Time Requirements:


Part-time - 3 - 8 hours/week
