Vida Unida On-Air Talent/Media Producer

Location: Houston, TX

Job Summary

We are seeking a spiritually grounded individual with strong moral character, a passion for serving others, and a heart for ministry to join our team as an On-Air Talent. This role involves hosting a daily live radio show that connects Spanish‑speaking Christian audiences to God, creating engaging and inspiring on‑air content, and confidently sharing biblical truths in an accessible way. The position reports directly to the Vida Unida Program Director. The ideal candidate will also assist with production tasks using tools like Adobe Audition and ProTools, collaborate with the Digital Content team to create videos, blogs, and social media content, and capture audio, video, and photos at station events, including concerts and in‑studio appearances. They will manage listener interactions on social media to foster a sense of community, drive organic growth, and cultivate relationships with listeners, influencers, and artists. Flexibility to travel for station events and a creative, service‑oriented approach are essential for this role.

Essential Functions
  • Create an on‑air experience that draws listeners in and builds listenership.
  • Host a daily live radio show that connects people more deeply to God and is relevant to the Christian‑Spanish speaking audience.
  • Biblically literate and able to confidently share spiritual truth and faith in a context that is easy to understand and relevant.
  • Occasionally attend and/or host station events local and national events.
Production
  • Strong understanding of production programs (Adobe Audition and Pro Tools).
  • Assist with production tasks as needed, including creating underwriting spots and station promos.
Digital Platform Content Creation
  • Collaborate with the Digital Content team to create videos, blogs, and other content as needed.
  • Capture audio, video, and photos at station events, including concerts, special events, Vida Unida promotions, team activities, and in‑studio events such as artist and influencer appearances.
  • Develop and post engaging content on Vida Unida’s social media platforms to foster deeper connections with listeners.
  • Monitor and manage daily listener interactions on social media during on‑air shifts, creating a sense of community and building a loyal following through valuable content and meaningful engagement.
  • Use authentic creativity to drive strong engagement and organic growth across all social media channels.
Fundraising
  • Proactively write/produce year‑round fundraising messaging, in collaboration with Program Director and key stakeholders.
  • Proactively drive content during on‑air fundraisers.
  • Represent Vida Unida at donor engagement/fundraising events as required.
Demonstrated Faith
  • Pray for coworkers in team meetings.
  • Lead prayer in large group settings as needed.
  • Pray for donors when called upon to do so.
  • Use Christian principles to work through conflict as outlined by the culture toolkit.
  • Participate in ministry fundraisers, and pray for donors over the phone as needed.
  • Participate in ministry wide Christian bible studies.
  • Attend weekly staff gatherings for prayer and devotions.
Non‑Essential Functions
  • Any other duties assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a radio talent.
  • Proficient in producing underwriting spots and station promos.
  • Basic knowledge of digital media content creation, with proven success using Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and other social media platforms for a business or organization.
  • Basic knowledge of Nielsen PPM is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must be bilingual, with fluent proficiency in both Spanish and English.
  • Working knowledge of radio scheduling broadcasting software and automation systems, audio editing tools such as Adobe Audition and Pro Tools, and call editing software like VoxPro.
  • Basic understanding of public relations and marketing principles.
  • Detail‑oriented, proactive, and highly organized.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to positively lead, influence, and align a team with mission, vision, values, and organizational goals.
  • Extensive experience creating radio content that fosters deeper connections with God.
  • Proven success using Instagram, Facebook, X, and other social media platforms to engage audiences.
  • Strong computer and technology skills including Mac and PC proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Audition and Pro Tools a plus.
  • Biblically literate and able to effectively articulate a Christian worldview through media content.
