The Security Officer ensures a safe, secure healing environment for patients, staff, and visitors;  as well as ensuring the protection of property from harm as a result of acts of violations of laws, policy, procedures or regulatory requirements 24 hours a day.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Reports all doors that are left open after hours or unattended offices
  2. Directs visitors, patients, vendors to correct locations; distributes passes
  3. Performs unit/building clock tours daily
  4. Conducts security rounds for safety violations
  5. Reports all hazardous conditions to the proper departments
  6. Monitors cameras / alarms at command posts
  7. Investigates all (police type) incident reports
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Ability to complete a Health Care Security and Safety Certification
  • SORA license (preferred)
  • With 1-2 years related experience, hospital setting (preferred)
