Reviews CHP 215, Notice to Appear, citations for errors, and sends correction notices to officers to comply with court restrictions. Processes CHP 411, Notice of Correction & Proof of Service, forms and CHP 239, Notice to Defendant & Proof of Service, when corrections are made. Enters CHP 215 information into Statewide Automated Citation System (SACS). Distributes citations to the appropriate court by mail. Makes necessary corrections in SACS as required. Sends status and records information requests to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), as required by the court, for California driver license violations. Files office copies of CHP 215s, and prepares completed books, and attaches to the CHP 215A, Assignment of Notice to Appear, for file. Maintains and tracks log of CHP 215 books and notifies officers of missing citations. Restocks CHP 215 books and ensures unassigned books are securely stored. Files CHP 281s, Notice to Correct Violation; CHP 214s, Written Warning; and DL 310s, Verbal Notice by Peace Officer, DMV or Court Employee. Processes voided and dismissed CHP 215s. Processes CHP 215 books for employees transferring to another command or separating from the Department. Submits DS 427, Driver Re-Evaluation, and SO-100, Parking Citations to allied agencies. Continuously keeps abreast of policies and procedures regarding citations to ensure compliance. Updates desk procedures as necessary. Responsible for maintaining and purging files related to desk function per the departmental retention schedule. Responsible for cross-training, assisting co-workers, and serving as back-up to meet Area needs as assigned. Serves as back-up to the Front Counter clerk on a rotational basis. Answers telephone calls from the public and routes to appropriate personnel.
