POSITION : Gun Runner

Position Overview:

  • Runs chopper gun to lay down resin and fiberglass used in construction of hull,deckand small parts;maintainsconstant laminate thickness as per engineering specs

  • Controls labor and parts flow in designatedarea. May direct team of other laminators.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Spraysroutine mix and lay-up of composite materials, fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto mold surface usinga chop gun.

  • Performs elementary and routine mix and lay-up of composite materials, fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto mold surface using various hand tools.

  • Maintainspropermillage on parts

  • Utilizationof open mold and vacuum infusion processes.

  • Works with various resins, gelcoats, fiberglass materials, foam, and structural adhesives.

  • Installs wood and other components into fiberglass hulls, decks, and small part molds.

  • Operates a variety of power tools including but not limited to saws, drills, grinders, and overhead hoists.

  • Locates parts by hand or byutilizingdetailed blueprints, work instructions, tools, and/or fixtures.

  • Sanding of fiberglass hulls, decks, and small part molds.

  • Assistwith rolling glass when needed.

  • Ability to Audit departmental work areas

  • Ability tomaintainand adjust resin guns and pumps

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly required to stand (90%), walk, climb, and bend during workday.Exposed to noise, dust, fumes, and odorson a daily basis. Physical exertion isrequired.

Experience:

  • A minimum of6 months to 1 year of fiberglass lamination instruction experiencerequired, 3 years preferred

  • Ability to work with coworkers inclose proximityand in ateamenvironment displaying mutual respect

  • Ability to fluently speak, read, write, and understand English

Safety Requirements:

  • Mustpossessthe desire and ambition towork safely at all timesand report all hazards to theirSupervisorimmediately

  • Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies

  • Must be able to wear required personal protectiveequipment wheredesignated, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.

  • Must be able to understand and complete the OSHA questionnaire, pass spirometer test, and physically wear a respirator whererequired

  • Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending,climbing stairs, spending working hours on your feet, etc.

  • Must be able to understand all safety related documents and worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment

Shift: Must have the availability to work from3pm-1:30Monday - Thursday. Overtime isfrequentlyrequiredon Friday based on scheduling needs. Sea Ray reserves the right to adjust shifts and work times as business needsevolve. An hourly premium shift differential is available for this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Theanticipatedpay range for this position is $21.22-25.80, hourly. Night Shift and Fiberglass premiums also included. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.
