Job description

The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. The Department of Radiology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, affiliated with the USC Keck School of Medicine, is actively searching for a Pediatric Interventional Radiologist at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology (Clinician Educator) to join the faculty team. This full-time position will come with an appropriate faculty appointment based on candidate experience.

Applicants will have an MD or MD/PhD degree(s) or equivalent, completed fellowship training in Adult Interventional Radiology (IR) and/or Pediatric Interventional Radiology, and ABR certification in Diagnostic Radiology with Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) eligible or certified in Pediatric Interventional Radiology. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record for both clinical and educational achievement in Pediatric Interventional Radiology. Research opportunities both within the department and across the institution are many and encouraged.

CHLA is a 600-bed dedicated pediatric hospital affiliated with USC. CHLA has the full spectrum of pediatric subspecialties that service a large, diverse population of children in the greater Los Angeles and Southern California area.

The Department of Radiology at CHLA is a 16-physician department performing 160,000 imaging studies per year. The department has 6 MRIs: two 1.5 Tesla, two 3 Tesla clinical instruments (a third being added this year), a research 3T clinical magnet, and an 11.7T Bruker research magnet. CT SPECT, CT PET, DEXA, and all other imaging modalities are also present. The department has an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Radiology fellowship program, a Pediatric Neuroradiology fellowship program, and rotating radiology residents from various academic institutions across Southern California.

This position is a continuing appointment, non-tenure eligible. Academic appointment in the Department of Radiology, rank, and salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position for patient care, teaching, and research.
