ABOUT US: Ascensus Global, Inc. (formerly MultiLingual Solutions, Inc.) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with more than 21 years of successful experience providing professional language services, foreign language and cultural training, and analysis support to a broad client base consisting of more than 40 U.S. military and intelligence customers, as well as over 2,000 civilian government, commercial and non-profit organizations in various fields. With ISO 9001:2015 and 17100:2015 certifications, AGI provides services in more than 100 languages, employing innovative technologies and methodologies and applying best practices from both the Government and commercial arenas to advance each customer's unique communication and operational objectives throughout the U.S. and across the globe.


POSITION SUMMARY: AGI currently has an opening for experienced Chinese language instructors for an in-person course taking place in Rockville, MD, from 06 April - 01 May, Mon-Fri, 9:00-15:30 EST, for 6 hours of instructing time plus 1 hour of paid development per day.

Requirements


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research, prepare and teach a virtual Chinese course to a small group of adult students, using instructional materials determined to be useful in meeting their learning objectives
  • Design and implement tests and quizzes to evaluate student performance
  • Provide up to 1 hour per day homework assignments to reinforce classroom studies
  • Report students' progress to Project Manager

SECURITY CLEARANCE: None


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educated native speaker of the target language (Level 4 or higher on the ILR proficiency scale)
  • Possess cultural knowledge of the country or region where the target language is spoken
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience teaching adult learners
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience developing instructional materials
  • Candidate must be comfortable using technology to teach virtually

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiar with the ILR scale
  • Experience teaching US government students
  • Experience teaching virtual classes

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 8-hour shifts.


PAY RANGE:


Pay Range: $30.00 - $32.00 p/h
