Chinese interpreters translate audio files or live broadcasts from Chinese to another language or vice versa. While interpreters may be able to read and write in Chinese, their job duties focus on verbal communication. In this role, you may translate a speech at a live event, or provide dubbing over a video. As the speaker is talking, you must be able to translate not only the exact words you hear, but must make sure you take context and tone into account. Some interpreters focus on a specific area or industry, such as interpreting in a legal, business, or medical setting.
