Job description

The Permanency Lead (SHPC4) is a specialist role within the Department of Children, Youth, and Families serving Region 5 in Tacoma. This position develops, implements, and oversees permanency practices and programs for the child welfare system, including guardianship and guardianship assistance programs. The role provides clinical consultation, technical support, and training to agency staff, providers, and community partners while monitoring compliance with state and federal policies.

Key qualifications
  • One year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 (SHPC3) or equivalent, OR three years as SHPC2, OR a Bachelor's degree in social work/related field with five years of professional e
  • Demonstrated expertise in permanency and understanding of permanent plans for children in care
  • Knowledge of federal and state child welfare laws, regulations, and DCYF Child Welfare Field Operations policies and procedures
  • Experience in safety and risk assessment, family preservation, and family-centered practice with at least 2 years assessing risk in the public child welfare system
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and coach others with strong clinical assessment and facilitation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and knowledge of FamLink case management system
