About This Role

The Children's Center is seeking a substitute preschool teacher for children 4-5 years of age to cover for a maternity leave from November 23rd through March 1st. This will be a full-time position including up to 40 hours per week. The position reports to the Group Coordinator for the Preschool Program. Competitive starting salary with Master/Mentor Level opportunity and salary range of $15- $21 with commensurate experience, bachelors or master's degree, and/or state credentialing. Responsible for providing a comfortable, nurturing atmosphere, developing, and executing an on-going program that will contribute to the care, growth and development of the children who attend the Wolfeboro Area Children’s Center.


What You'll Do
  • Provide a supportive and welcoming environment that meets the diverse needs of each child and family
  • Participate in planning and conducting daily activities for the children
  • Support the children in practicing and developing independent self-help skills
  • To maintain a clean, orderly and safe physical environment conducive to optimal growth and development of the children.
  • Collaborate with families, related service providers and other support staff
  • Participate in staff meetings and planning meetings, using staff meetings as a forum for expressing concerns relevant to the Center functioning or the well being of children.
  • Maintain a friendly, respectful relationship with co-workers, to share information with other Center staff appropriately, and to deal directly with involved person and immediate Coordinator.
  • Follow all center policies and NH Childcare Licensing regulations.

Requirements
  • Experience and passion working with young children
  • Ability to work positively in a team environment.
  • Candidate should have an understanding of child development.
  • Must clear full background check and health screening.
  • Strong commitment to maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves
  • NH State Teaching Credential
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Courses in Early Childhood Education specifically focusing on child growth and development
