Position Description:
The time has come to hire our next Children's Ministry Director. We are a church that highly values reaching, equipping, and empowering future generations. We are looking for a leader who has a genuine love for children and their families, is abiding in a deep relationship with Christ, and out of that relationship is passionate about helping children know, love, and follow Jesus.
Our Current Ministry Rhythms:
  • Wednesday night ministry for children from preschool through 5th grade from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Preschool children participate in Cubbies, while elementary students participate in Sparks (K-2nd grade) and Ignite (3rd-5th grade). Elementary students rotate through large-group teaching, games, and gradelevel small groups designed to foster Biblical understanding and relational discipleship.
  • Sunday morning ministry. Preschool children meet in age-appropriate classrooms while elementary students gather for worship and large-group teaching before transitioning into grade-level small groups.
  • Selecting, implementing, and evaluating curriculum that helps children understand God's Word and engage in meaningful discipleship on Sundays and Wednesdays.
  • Recruiting, training, encouraging, and developing volunteer leaders who relationally disciple children and help create a safe, welcoming, and Christcentered ministry environment.
  • Coordinating nursery ministry schedules and maintaining strong communication with nursery volunteers and parents.
  • Communicating consistently with families through digital platforms to keep parents informed, connected, and equipped for discipleship at home.
  • Leading and coordinating children's ministry events throughout the year, including Winter Camp, Fall Fest, Christmas Program, New Year's Eve Party, Tubing Night, Game Night, Grand Prix, and other opportunities that build community and foster spiritual growth.
  • Providing leadership and coordination for Vacation Bible School, a week-long summer outreach ministry that serves both church and community families.
  • Helping children discover how God has uniquely gifted them to serve others and participate in His mission (Ephesians 2:10).
  • Partnering with parents as the primary spiritual influencers in their children's lives by providing encouragement, resources, and opportunities for family discipleship.
  • Working alongside a staff team that enjoys serving Jesus together. We value Gospel partnership, collaboration, shared mission, and genuine friendship. This includes attending staff meetings, participating in ministry planning, contributing to the overall health and vision of the church, and occasionally sharing a good laugh along the way.
  • Maintaining a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and leading from a place of spiritual maturity, humility, and dependence upon Him.
Who Thrives in This Role?
The person who thrives in this role will likely be someone who:
  • Loves Jesus deeply and leads from a vibrant personal walk with Him.
  • Enjoys building relationships with children, parents, and volunteers.
  • Believes some of the most significant spiritual growth in children happens through caring, consistent relationships with trusted adult leaders.
  • Values discipleship more than simply running programs.
  • Is organized enough to lead ministry systems while remaining flexible and relational.
  • Enjoys working as part of a collaborative staff team.
  • Is excited about helping the next generation discover, follow, and serve Jesus.
