Job description

Urbancrest Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking their next Children & Family Pastor. Urbancrest is a highly missional congregation of Southern Baptists located in Lebanon, OH. We have a healthy staff ready to add a Children & Family Pastor to our team! Our staff team is led by Pastor Geoff Prows. Urbancrest offers two identical modern worship styled services on Sunday mornings. In addition to our in-person services, we live-stream the first service. We presently average 550 at our in-person gatherings.

Our church is completely debt free. We have 70 acres that make up our campus. The Urbancrest campus includes a 1000 seat worship center, 100 seat student worship area, full education space, high school size gymnasium, outdoor pavilion, 9-hole disc golf course, fishing pond, camping area, Red Barn Ministry, and 2 parsonages.

Urbancrest has a solid relationship with her community and schools. Lebanon High School is one mile from the church and currently has 1271 students. The Jr. High has another 1231 students. A newer Elementary School has 2186 and there are 422 students in Preschool and Kindergarten. Located within a one-hour drive is Cedarville University, University of Cincinnati, University of Dayton, and other colleges.

Requirements for this full-time pastoral position include:
  • Clear testimony of salvation
  • Clear, evident ministry calling
  • Some college/seminary experience
  • Minimum 5 years of full-time ministry experience
  • Ordained, with pastoral experience
  • Humble, Healthy, Hardworking
  • Complete agreement with the 2000 Baptist Faith & Message

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute the mission of the church through the Children's ministry
  • Shepherd volunteers, workers, and families in the Children's ministry
  • Provide an exciting, engaging age-appropriate experience for Children on Sunday mornings during the two worship hours
  • Offer to the church and community a quality AWANA or similar experience on Wednesday evenings during the school year
  • Build a solid core team of Children's volunteers
  • Calendar regular activities for children and families that foster spiritual growth and fellowship
  • Oversee, train, recruit, and execute our entire VBS experience
  • Provide an annual summer camp for grades 1-6
  • Work closely with the complete staff team in accomplishing the church mission
  • Cast vision, oversee budget, lead by example, educate the church family
