Director of Children’s Ministries -Interim Coordinator of Children’s Ministries

Part-Time · 20 hours/week

Overview

Valley Fourth Church (V4) is seeking a Director of Children’s Ministries to provide administrative and spiritual leadership for a vibrant, gospel-centered ministry serving children from birth through 5th grade. This role supports the church’s mission by cultivating a Christ-focused environment where children grow in faith and families feel supported and engaged.

Purpose

The Director of Children’s Ministries will lead all aspects of V4’s children’s programs, maintaining a biblical, comprehensive, and consistent vision for evangelizing and discipling children within the church and the surrounding community.

Key Responsibilities

Children’s Ministry Leadership

·         Provide oversight for all children’s ministries, ensuring alignment with V4’s mission, vision, and strategy.

·         Develop and implement a ministry plan that supports Christian growth across all childhood stages, including a healthy transition into the Youth Ministry.

·         Direct weekly programs including Nursery, Children’s Sunday School, and V4 Kids Powerhouse (Children’s Church).

·         Review, approve, and distribute curricula for all children’s ministry environments.

·         Deliver personal and team teaching within Children’s Ministries.

·         Maintain good working relationships with ministry staff and stay up to date with all ministry initiatives.

Volunteer Management

·         Build and maintain a strong team of volunteers through recruiting, interviewing, training, coaching, and ongoing support.

·         Set clear expectations for volunteers and provide regular development, evaluation, and care.

·         Foster meaningful relationships with children, parents, and volunteers.

Events & Programs

·         Lead major annual events including:

o    Vacation Bible School (Summer)

o    Harvest Party (Fall)

o    Winter Camp (optional)

o    Concerts (optional)

·         Partner with other church staff to support cross-ministry initiatives.

Qualifications

·         A clear testimony of God’s saving and transforming grace.

·         A passion for developing an engaging, Bible-based, gospel-driven ministry for children.

·         Demonstrated ability to connect with children, relate well to parents, and develop volunteers.

·         Minimum of two years of experience in children’s ministry preferred.

·         Background in child development with 3–5 years of experience working with children and volunteers will also be considered.

Expectations

·         Report directly to the Senior Pastor.

·         Comply with all V4 policies and procedures.

·         Maintain healthy, consistent relationships with parents and families.

·         Be able and willing to join Valley Fourth Church and actively participate in the life of the church.

·         Model a consistent walk with God that reflects the fruit of the Spirit.
