FTE: 1.0_, Shift: Day and weekend_, Schedule: _Tuesday thru Saturday 9a-530p or 8a-430p dependent on in hospital or outpatient setting

Position Summary

The Child Life Assistant is responsible for implementing assigned developmentally appropriate group and/or individual recreational activities which promote socialization, self-awareness, self-expression, understanding, and provides supportive services to promote the development, maintenance and expression of an appropriate leisure/play and social lifestyle for pediatric patients and/or siblings under the direction of a Child Life Specialist. The Child Life Assistant's responsibility will include inpatient and/or outpatient areas, as deemed appropriate. Work situations are of a routine nature but vary for day to day. This position requires a service-oriented individual, the use of discretion and good judgment, and a clear understanding of the growth, development, and needs of children. Internal contacts include Mary Bridge patient care staff and management. External contacts include patients, families, physicians, and outside organizations.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in child development, early childhood education, or related field
  • Minimum four (4) years of recent and related experience working with infants, children, and/or adolescents

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $24.83 - $35.71 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
