Child Care Group Leader

Full-Time Position | Licensed Child Care Program

LADACIN's Child Care Program provides a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where young children can learn, grow, and thrive. Our experienced staff create developmentally appropriate learning experiences while fostering each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

LADACIN (Lifetime Assistance for Developmental and Challenging Individual Needs) has been serving the community for more than 75 years. As a nonprofit agency, our mission is to provide a continuum of educational, therapeutic, social, residential, and support services to infants, children, and adults with complex physical and developmental disabilities or delays.

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, energetic Child Care Group Leader to join our early childhood team. The Group Leader is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment while supporting the individual needs of each child. This is a full-time position 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
• Create and maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Supervise and mentor classroom assistants while promoting teamwork and collaboration.
• Develop lesson plans and maintain classroom documentation in accordance with licensing requirements.
• Observe, assess, and document children's developmental progress.
• Build positive relationships with families and maintain open communication regarding children's progress and daily activities.
• Ensure compliance with all Office of Licensing regulations and agency policies.
• Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to provide high-quality childcare services.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required trainings.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Child Development Associate (CDA), Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or teaching certification in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with young children required.
• Experience working with children with special needs preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Must pass all required background checks and meet New Jersey Office of Licensing requirements.
