Job description

The Senior Underwriter, Reinsurance, will be a key member of the Westfield A&H Underwriting team. In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting Managed Care, Provider Excess and other specialty products.  

Reporting to the Chief Underwriting Officer A&H, you will be a key contributor to the overall management, growth, and profitability of our business.  

  • Lead our entry into new products and markets such as Provider Excess and Managed Care 
  • Develop and execute underwriting strategies for assigned products. 
  • Manage the relationship and profitability of your assigned MGU accounts 
  • Work directly with brokers to develop business flow and successfully acquire business 
  • Part of and present new and renewal opportunities to our Peer Review team (UW, Actuarial, Claims).

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10 years underwriting HMO and Provider Excess covers.
  • Employer Stop Loss experience a plus, as is familiarity with the Xpert system 
  • Established broker relationships 
  • Program management experience
