The Worldwide Manufacturing & Mobility Industry CTO for Microsoft Frontier Company is the technology leader responsible for identifying, shaping, and scaling agentic technology patterns across the most strategic global Manufacturing & Mobility customers. This role translates complex mission needs into repeatable, secure, compliant agentic solution patterns that deliver real-world value and impactful mission outcomes.
As part of FIA, the CTO community serves as the technical bridge between Industry Advisors, Engineering, FDE Studios, and Solution Sales teams. Together, we transform customer insights into repeatable solutions, influence future product direction, and help customers realise measurable business outcomes through AI and Frontier technologies.
Job Purpose
As a Manufacturing & Mobility CTO, you will turn technical ambiguity into repeatable advantage.
You will operate at the intersection of customer demand, industry expertise, Engineering innovation, and AI transformation. Working across Industry Advisors, FDE Studios, Engineering teams, and Solution Sales Enablement, you will identify the technical patterns, architectures, and opportunities that can scale across industries and customers.
You will help Microsoft learn faster from every engagement by transforming customer signals, implementation insights, and emerging technology trends into reusable assets, engineering feedback, technical points of view, and scalable solution patterns.
This opportunity will allow you to:
Shape future industry and Engineering direction through direct influence on product roadmaps and strategic innovation priorities.
Develop deep expertise in Frontier Transformation, AI-powered business models, and industry-led technical strategy.
Build technical leadership across some of Microsoft's most strategic customers, industries, and Engineering organisations.
You will join a geographically distributed team with flexible working arrangements, combining remote collaboration with customer, industry, and team engagements.
Microsoft Culture

As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realise our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Drive Technical Pattern Recognition Across Industries
Identify, validate, and scale repeatable technical patterns emerging from customer engagements, FDE projects, industry trends, and AI transformation initiatives. Distinguish between one-off customer requirements and opportunities that can be leveraged across an entire industry or solution domain.
Shape Microsoft's Future Through Engineering Influence
Create a closed feedback loop between Industry Advisors, FDE Studios, customers, and Engineering teams. Translate customer priorities, implementation learnings, and market signals into actionable feedback that improves roadmap relevance, platform capabilities, and future product investments.
Improve FDE Qualification and Prioritisation
Partner with Industry Advisors, Engineering, and FDE Studios to improve opportunity qualification, prioritisation, and execution. Help ensure investments focus on opportunities that maximise customer value, technical feasibility, strategic relevance, and repeatability.
Accelerate Reuse Over Reinvention
Drive the creation and adoption of reusable architectures, technical assets, reference patterns, accelerators, implementation guidance, and agentic solution frameworks that enable teams to move faster and increase customer impact.
Build Technical Capability Across Frontier Industry Advisory
Strengthen technical confidence and capability across FIA by coaching Industry Advisors, improving technical qualification practices, and helping teams engage customers with greater credibility in AI transformation, architecture discussions, and Frontier opportunities.
Anticipate Emerging Technology and Industry Disruption
Proactively evaluate emerging technologies, industry shifts, and transformation opportunities. Develop forward-looking points of view that help Microsoft, our customers, and our field organisations prepare for the next wave of industry innovation.
