Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead operational strategy, improve business performance, and support scalable growth for a growing employee-owned Green Industry organization. The COO will oversee multiple operational divisions, develop high-performing teams, implement efficient processes, and drive accountability across the organization. This executive leadership role partners closely with the President, CFO, and senior leadership team to translate strategic goals into measurable operational results.
Responsibilities
Lead daily operations across multiple business divisions, including landscape maintenance, lawn care, and tree services.
Partner with executive leadership to execute company strategy, growth initiatives, and operational goals.
Manage and develop department managers and operational leaders.
Build leadership pipelines through coaching, mentoring, and employee development.
Establish operational KPIs, scorecards, dashboards, and performance tracking systems.
Improve productivity, profitability, workflow efficiency, and resource allocation.
Develop forecasting, budgeting, and operational planning processes.
Lead cross-functional initiatives to support business growth and continuous improvement.
Drive a culture of accountability, safety, communication, and employee engagement.
Oversee fleet management, operational compliance, and industry standards.
Champion safety programs and maintain regulatory requirements, including TCIA accreditation.
Support ESOP culture by strengthening employee ownership and engagement.
Qualifications
Proven executive-level operations leadership experience.
Experience managing multiple departments and leading through growth or organizational scaling.
Background in Green Industry, landscaping, tree care, construction, or related service-based businesses preferred.
Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning.
Demonstrated success in developing managers and building high-performing teams.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to create systems, improve processes, and drive operational excellence.
Experience working in employee-owned (ESOP) organizations is a plus.
