Job description

CFO - Energy Storage, Greater Phoenix Area, $375,000 to $425,000, + 50% target bonus + LTIE

We're partnering with a PE backed energy storage manufacturing company on a search for a Chief Financial Officer. The business is in a high and active growth phase, and looking for a CFO to help build out the finance function from the ground up, and grow with the company as it scales.

This is a rare opportunity for a leader who wants real, hands on ownership and impact.

What you'll be doing:

  • Set financial strategy and manage capital structure and liquidity through a major growth and investment phase
  • Build out institutional grade financial infrastructure, including systems, controls, and reporting, to support the company's next stage of growth
  • Lead capital raising efforts, working directly with the board and ownership on financing strategy
  • Build and scale a finance organization spanning FP&A, accounting, treasury, and tax
  • Own the financial model, budgeting process, and long range planning, with a rigorous, ground up approach to assumptions
  • Represent the business to the board, investors, lenders, and other key stakeholders
  • Partner with commercial leadership on major contracts and deal structuring
  • Oversee treasury, insurance, tax, and enterprise risk as the company scales
  • Take on financial oversight for affiliated operations outside the US
  • Mentor and develop a lean finance team

What we're looking for:

  • 15-20+ years of progressive finance leadership, including direct CFO experience or been head of global division and looking for a CFO move
  • A track record of raising capital and managing relationships with lenders, underwriters, and investors
  • Background in energy, manufacturing, industrials, or another capital intensive, project driven sector
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Comfortable in a lean, private equity backed environment with competing priorities and limited existing infrastructure
  • A genuinely hands on operator; this is not a delegator's seat
  • Strong ERP and systems implementation experience
  • Multi entity, multi currency consolidation experience, ideally with international exposure
  • Cross border M&A experience

Compensation & logistics:

  • Base salary: $375,000 to $425,000, plus 50% target bonus and long term incentive eligibility
  • Note: the company expects to relocate its headquarters to a new US market within the next one to two years; candidates should be open to that longer term move OR extensive travel
  • Some domestic and international travel required
