Job Title: Chief Engineer / Director of Maintenance
Location: Sheraton Augusta Hotel – Augusta, GA

Position Summary:
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel’s maintenance operations, ensuring the safety, functionality, and appearance of the property. This leadership role manages the engineering team, preventative maintenance programs, and capital improvement projects to maintain brand standards and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the Engineering/Maintenance department
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance (PM) programs for guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas
  • Ensure all building systems are operating efficiently (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems)
  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards
  • Oversee repairs, renovations, and capital projects
  • Manage department budget, expenses, and inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance team members
  • Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Conduct routine inspections of the property to ensure quality and safety standards are met
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance leadership experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems
  • Experience with preventative maintenance systems and work order tracking
