Through business advocacy, community engagement, economic development, and professional programming, the organization serves as a catalyst for regional growth and an enhanced quality of life across the Lake Houston area.
The
President & CEO will provide strategic leadership for the organization, with responsibility for expanding membership, strengthening employer and investor relationships, attracting new business investment, and advancing the region's long-term economic vitality.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, this highly visible executive will oversee the Chamber's operations, financial performance, strategic direction, and economic development initiatives in coordination with the City. The President & CEO will serve as the organization's primary ambassador, advocate, fundraiser, policy advisor, and business development leader.

Key Responsibilities- Partner with the Board of Directors to establish and execute the Chamber's strategic vision and long-term priorities.
- Grow membership and revenue through recruitment, retention, sponsorships, signature events, grants, and investor relationships.
- Lead economic development efforts that support business growth, employer retention, and new investment in the region.
- Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, audits, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the Chamber's primary spokesperson and advocate with business, government, media, and community leaders.
- Build productive partnerships with public-sector officials, employers, investors, educational institutions, and civic organizations.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team while fostering an accountable, collaborative, and inclusive culture.
- Ensure strong governance, ethical practices, risk management, data security, and compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, economics, urban planning, marketing, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive executive leadership experience with a chamber of commerce, economic development organization, municipal government, or similar membership-based organization.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit governance, chamber operations, Texas economic development programs, municipal finance, public-private partnerships, commercial real estate, and site selection.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex budgets, multiple funding sources, government contracts, staff, and organizational operations.
- Exceptional communication, public speaking, negotiation, relationship-building, and consensus-building skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, financial systems, and economic development data tools.
- Professional credentials such as IOM, ACE, or CCE preferred, or willingness to obtain them.
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to meet required background, credit, and drug-screening requirements.
- Position is primarily on-site with occasional in-state and out-of-state travel for prospect meetings, conferences and legislative activity.
