Technical Accountant

We are seeking a Technical Accountant to join our growing Financial Operations practice.
As a Technical Accountant Consultant at Bridgepoint, you will assist clients with complex accounting projects which involve implementing new standards or getting them compliant with current standards.

What You'll Do:

• Research technical issues and prepare analyses, memos/white papers with considered reasoning and conclusions
• Present and defend accounting positions to external auditors
• Develop financial reporting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with new accounting guidance
• Prepare and file SEC filings (10-K's, 10-Q's, S-1's and 8-K's) as well as compile tie-out and supporting documents

What You'll Need:

• A passion and curiosity for understanding and researching complex accounting issues
• 4+ years of public accounting experience, most recently as Senior Associate or Manager, and a minimum of 3 years with a technical accounting focus - Big Four firm experience is a plus
• B.A or B.S. in Accounting - Master's in Accounting is a plus
• CPA, currently sitting for CPA, or CPA eligible
• Strong desire for consulting-style work and delivering excellent customer service
• Knowledge of FASB guidance including revenue recognition (ASC 606), software recognition (ASC 985-605), leasing (ASC 842), and stock-based compensation (ACS 718)
• Experience and familiarity with technology and software industries
• Experience writing technical accounting position papers
• Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency with SEC financial reporting requirements
• Very thorough and detail-oriented
