Job Description

Join our remote team as a Senior Data Architect supporting a Chief Data Officer (CDO) organization. In this role, you will partner with federal clients to advance enterprise data management, data governance, and data modernization initiatives by identifying, analyzing, and documenting enterprise data assets and their relationships. The successful candidate will perform data-centric analysis of business applications and systems to develop metadata, document data lineage and data flows, and prepare data assets for onboarding into the enterprise data catalog.

The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience analyzing existing systems and documenting data architectures through logical data models, metadata specifications, data lineage, and governance artifacts. This individual will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders across all organizational levels to identify business data sources, define and enrich metadata, and ensure enterprise data assets are accurately represented and discoverable within the enterprise data catalog.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data-centric analysis of enterprise applications, databases, application interfaces, and business processes to identify enterprise data assets, data relationships, and system dependencies.
  • Analyze application architectures and data flows to document the movement, transformation, and consumption of data across enterprise systems.
  • Develop, document, and maintain metadata, data dictionaries, logical data models, data lineage, and other data governance artifacts to support enterprise data management objectives.
  • Prepare, validate, and curate metadata for onboarding into the enterprise data catalog, ensuring enterprise data assets are accurately described and discoverable.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, system owners, data stewards, architects, and development teams to identify critical data assets, define metadata standards, and improve data asset visibility across the organization.
  • Recommend enhancements to data governance processes, metadata management practices, and catalog capabilities to improve enterprise data literacy, user adoption, and information sharing.
  • Maintain enterprise data definitions, data health metrics, reference data, and governance documentation to promote consistency, accuracy, and standardization across business domains.
  • Perform AI data curation activities, including identifying, classifying, organizing, and enriching enterprise data assets to improve their readiness for AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics use cases.
  • Translate complex data architectures and technical concepts into clear visualizations, presentations, and documentation tailored to technical, business, and executive audiences.
  • Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise on enterprise data management, metadata management, data cataloging, and data modernization best practices.
Requirements:

Required Skillset:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 8 years of experience in data architecture, data analysis, data governance, or related technical domains.
  • Expertise in data modeling and documenting enterprise systems.
  • Hands-on experience curating and enriching enterprise data assets to improve data quality, discoverability, usability, and readiness for AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
  • Experience collaborating with SMEs and technical teams to gather and document data requirements.
  • Hands-on experience participating in Agile teams and workflows.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

Desired Skillset:
