Job description

The Peninsula Chicago is seeking an Assistant Director to join our Spa team to achieve the company's objectives and create a memorable guest experience.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manages spa retail operations and personnel. Ensures retail operations adhere to business plan objectives. Reviews and approves purchase planners, pricing recommendations and inventory tracking.
  • Responsible for managing and ensuring cleanliness of spa facilities. Ensures completion of daily checklists and hourly walkthroughs.
  • Delegates and supervises the completion of all maintenance improvements and member requests.
  • Recommends improved cleaning products or cleaning methods toward optimal levels of sanitation and cleanliness. 
  • Monitors the operation of the mechanical, electrical and heating facilities through routine preventative maintenance and repairs and follows proper notification procedures in the event of equipment failure. 
  • Completes proper inventory system for spa services and products. 
  • Trains, supervises, and schedules associates to ensure continuous coverage and efficient service delivery.

General Requirements:

  • Must have at least 5 years of managerial experience in a similar role in a luxury property.
  • Knowledge of PMS/Opera and some knowledge in rooms department preferred
  • Ability to deal with a high level of work demand and pressure, individual must have great organization skills.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
