Summary

Join Lee Health as the Director of Patient Access at Coconut Point, a highly visible leadership role that serves as one of the foundational operational pillars of our growing outpatient campus. This position offers the opportunity to influence the patient experience, revenue cycle performance, and operational excellence across multiple care settings while partnering directly with executive leadership.

Reporting to the Site Leader of Lee Health Coconut Point (LHCP), the Director of Patient Access serves as a key member of the campus leadership team and plays an integral role in shaping the strategic and operational direction of the facility. This leader participates in all campus leadership communications, operational reviews, and decision-making forums while driving best-in-class patient access services across the continuum of care.

What You'll Lead

The Director of Patient Access provides oversight for patient access operations across three major areas of the Coconut Point campus:

  • Hospital-Based Outpatient Services
  • Lee Physician Group (LPG) Practices
  • Freestanding Emergency Department (FED), including Emergency Department Financial Counselors

Additionally, this role maintains responsibility for the on-site Greeter and Customer Service Representative team at Bonita Health Center, ensuring a consistent, patient-centered experience across locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all patient access functions across assigned service lines.
  • Drive excellence in registration, scheduling, insurance verification, authorization, financial counseling, point-of-service collections, and customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, payer, and organizational regulations and standards.
  • Partner closely with clinical, operational, physician, and revenue cycle leaders to improve access, patient satisfaction, and financial performance.
  • Utilize Epic and data analytics to identify opportunities, improve workflows, and optimize key performance indicators.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Support organizational growth initiatives and help shape the future patient experience across Lee Health Coconut Point.
Requirements

Education: Bachelors degree in business administration or related field

Experience: Minimum of 6 years of Patient Access management experience in large multi-campus health systems with extensive knowledge of all patient access functions, compliance, and healthcare regulations. Epic experience required. Extensive knowledge of registration, verification, billing, compliance, debt collection, financial assistance and payment regulations.

Certified Revenue Cycle Executive (CRCE-I)

Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM)

Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) (HFMA)
