About the Job:
Part Time Day Porter
Property Address:  10511-10543 4S Commons Dr., San Diego, CA 92127
Schedule:  Saturday & Sunday 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Pay:  $17.25 per hour

Day Porter Qualifications:

  • Janitorial experience preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Punctual and dependable.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Meet the physical requirements: constantly walking, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, reaching over the shoulder, lifting, and carrying.
  • Constant weight - 1-35 lbs. Occasional weight - 36-50 lbs.

Day Porter General function:

  • Pick up trash as needed and empty trash receptacles.
  • Perform cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning cobwebs, wiping down surfaces, restroom cleaning, etc.
  • Clean exterior surfaces of windows, windowsills, and doors.
  • Remove and/or clean up any debris or soil such as stickers, chewing gum, coffee spills, graffiti, etc.
  • Continuously walk the property to inspect all public areas for cleanliness.
  • Notify the supervisor in case there is a need for repairs.
  • Always wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, including gloves, goggles, safety vest, and any other safety equipment required.

Requirements

The Ideal Day Porter:

  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to identify and manage priorities.
  • Ability to complete the physical requirements of the job.
  • Day porter/janitor/custodian experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Constant need (100% during production time) to be on foot.

Ability to bend/stoop/squat/kneel.

Climb the stairs.

Push, pull, reach over the shoulder.

Grasp and grip.

Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
