Job description

Overview

Operates within a crew to clean, repair, and maintain the carpets, upholstery, and drapes at all Chumash Enterprise properties.

Responsibilities
  • Completes assigned tasks in a timely and precise manner.
  • Preps carpet, carpet machinery, and related chemicals and equipment for cleaning.
  • Cleans carpets in assigned area using carpet extractor machinery to remove all dirt, stains, chewing gum, etc.
  • Operates, maintains, and repairs carpet extractor machinery, vacuum cleaners, and other cleaning equipment.
  • Cleans upholstery with upholstery cleaning machine, inspects spots to determine composition and proper cleaning method.
  • Transports furniture and chairs to Upholstery Room for maintenance and repair.
  • Uses cleaning agents properly and as directed.
  • Operates carpet and upholstery equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with department standards.
  • Protects Team Members and casino guests from the work area during cleaning process by properly clearing and designating the area i.e., removing furniture, setting up appropriate barricades etc.
  • Coordinates the closing of areas for cleaning and repairs with Casino Operations.
  • Notifies a supervisor when any unsafe, unsanitary, or defective condition is detected.
  • Upholds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, and collaboration, while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Two years of prior upholstery and carpet cleaning experience or completion of ISSA Custodial Technician course preferred.
  • Must be capable of operating cleaning machines and equipment.
  • Must possess basic mechanical knowledge and ability.
  • Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, e-mail, and internet.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.
