Bell Lobby Attendant

ย 

Primary Responsibilities:

Greet hotel guests upon arrival, present leis and escort guests to registration. Assist in check-in procedures. Escort guests to their rooms, providing information on resort facilities/events, restaurants, Ocean Awareness Program and Big Island activities. Familiarize guest with hotel room and amenities. Assist in bell department with answering telephone and tagging luggage. Keeps lobby clean and orderly. May deliver items to guest rooms, as needed. Retrieve juice & leiโ€™s from loading dock and stock refrigerators. Keep back area clean and wash glassware in lobby housekeeping closet.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Greet and welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner, present leis and other amenities, personalizing service to guests.
  • Escort guests to registration and may assist with check-in.
  • Escort guests to their room, providing information on resort facilities/events, restaurants, Ocean Awareness Program and Big Island activities.
  • Familiarize guest with hotel room and amenities.
  • Keep lobby clean and orderly; greet guests and offer assistance.
  • Perform duties following the resort standard operating procedure.
  • Must be warm and friendly at all times, greeting guest and personalizing their service using a professional manner (No Gum chewing, leaning, sitting and/or sluggish demeanor).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.


Secondary Job Functions:

  • Assist other positions in the department as needed.
  • Deliver items to guest rooms as requested.
  • Assist with site tours of the resort if requested.

Working Conditions:

  • Work indoors in an open lobby area and corridor that may be affected by various weather conditions.
  • Office environment.


Work Hours:

  • Able to work shift and days determined by manager.
  • Able to work in excess of 40 hours per week if needed.


Equipment Use:

  • Telephone
  • 2-way radio wireless or plugged headset (must be charged and turned on during your shift).
  • Luggage cart.


Mental and Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand and walk during entire shift.
  • Must be able to deal with complaints or with irate guests and remain calm and friendly.


Communication Demands:

  • Must be able to verbally communicate with employees, managers, and guests.
  • Minimum Qualification Requirements:
  • Must be pleasant, smiling and friendly.
