Chevron is accepting online applications for the position SAP Solution Architect - IS-OIL (HCVC)through August 19th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (Central Time).


Overview:

Chevron is seeking an experienced SAP Architect for IS-OIL to support Chevron S/4 transformation solutions across the hydrocarbon value chain. This role will provide hands-on solution architecture and design leadership for SAP IS-OIL and related S/4HANA capabilities supporting oil and gas supply, logistics, transportation, inventory, manufacturing, and commodity sales processes.

The successful candidate will partner closely with business stakeholders, product owners, enterprise architects, technical teams, system integrators to translate business requirements into scalable, integrated, and supportable SAP solutions. This role requires strong functional and technical depth, the ability to lead complex design decisions, and communication skills to influence outcomes across a global, matrixed program environment.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Provide solution architecture and functional design leadership for SAP IS-OIL and related SAP S/4HANA capabilities.

  • Lead solution blueprinting, fit-gap analysis, functional design, integration design, and design decisioning across hydrocarbon value chain processes.

  • Apply SAP IS-OIL expertise across areas such as supply and distribution, bulk logistics, terminal operations, exchanges, inventory, transportation, pricing, tax, and reporting.

  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to define solution options, evaluate trade-offs, manage risks, and align designs with enterprise architecture standards.

  • Support integration across SAP and non-SAP systems, including logistics, transportation, terminal automation, finance, tax, reporting, and third-party platforms.

  • Identify and deliver solution enhancements that align with business requirements, product roadmaps, and long-term Digital Core objectives.

  • Work within Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid delivery teams to support design, build, test, deployment, hyper care, and ongoing support.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business and technical stakeholders by clearly communicating complex functional and technical concepts.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of hands-on SAP experience, including SAP IS-OIL, SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, or related oil and gas value chain solutions.

  • Experience designing and implementing SAP solutions for oil and gas, hydrocarbon value chain, logistics, supply, trading, manufacturing, or commodity transportation processes.

  • Strong understanding of SAP IS-OIL capabilities and integration points across supply, distribution, inventory, transportation, finance, pricing, tax, and reporting.

  • Experience with solution blueprinting, fit-gap analysis, functional design, configuration support, testing, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.

  • Experience working with custom objects, enhancements, interfaces, reports, conversions, workflows, and integration patterns in complex SAP environments.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, product owners, enterprise architects, and system integrators.

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering, business, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering, business, or a related field.

  • SAP certification in S/4HANA, IS-OIL, logistics, supply chain, transportation, or a related SAP solution area.

  • Experience with SAP Transportation Management, SAP Event Management, SAP GTS, SAP Commodity Management, SAP MM, SAP SD, SAP EWM, SAP PP-PI, or SAP integration middleware.

  • Experience supporting large-scale SAP transformation programs in oil and gas, energy, refining, downstream, supply and trading, or manufacturing environments.

  • Experience working with SAP product teams, vendors, or system integrators to influence solution design and product roadmaps.

  • Experience with energy transition, carbon management, emissions tracking, or sustainability-related business processes.
