Young Life shall only employ individuals or enlist volunteer leaders who: (a) profess a belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord; and (b) subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff, including the Young Life Statement of Faith. Job Specific Working Conditions:

Area Description

Chester County Young Life has a long and rich history, having shared the Gospel with adolescents since 1974. Chester County Young Life currently reaches high schoolers at all public high schools in the county, middle schoolers through Wyldlife at two middle schools, students with special needs through Young Life Capernaum, college students through Young Life College at West Chester University, and teen parents through YoungLives. Although Chester County YoungLives has been in existence for the past 15 years, YoungLives successfully integrated into the Chester County Young Life area in 2024.

Chester County Young Life is looking for a YoungLives staff person in a pivotal part of the region. Chester County YoungLives staff would be responsible for directly overseeing and building the Chester County YoungLives club in Coatesville, and working towards growth in adding new Clubs within the county. There is significant ministry happening in Chester County, with plenty of opportunity to introduce more teen parents to the hope of the Gospel of Jesus.

Responsibilities

  • Connect with and build relationships with teen parents

  • Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers

  • Plan monthly team meetings, Clubs, and Bible Studies

  • Go to camp with teen moms & their babies in the summer

  • Recruit and lead a Committee (board) that lends support for the work

  • Meet with Chester County YL Staff weekly for support, encouragement, and growth

  • Monthly meetings with YoungLives staff in the Greater Philadelphia area

  • Raise financial support and care for current donors who support the work

  • Establish relationships in the Chester County area, including but not limited to key connections like Nurse Family Partnership, Young Parents Program, ConnectCare, and Chester County OBGYN.

  • Develop relationships with local schools, organizations, and agencies

  • Attend training monthly with the Regional YLVS Coordinator

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred

  • Commitment to a growing relationship with Christ

  • Ability to communicate Young Life's mission and vision

  • Proven relational skills with both adolescents and adults

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Self-motivated

  • Willing and able to understand the unique issues teen parents face. Trauma Informed

  • Goal-oriented

  • Proven leadership skills

  • Ability to travel as the job requires

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Bilingual preferred (if not, open to working across languages)
