Job description

Chess Coach Chess Coach (After-School Program) – Atlanta Area

We are seeking an engaging and reliable Chess Coach to lead an after-school chess program one day per week during the upcoming school year in the Atlanta city area.

Schedule

Tuesdays from 3:15 PM – 4:30 PM

Weekly commitment throughout the school year

Responsibilities

Supervise and check in students at the start of class

Prepare for lessons

Receive training

Teach chess fundamentals, strategy, and gameplay

Differentiate instruction for beginner and intermediate players

Maintain strong classroom management and a positive learning environment

Encourage sportsmanship, critical thinking, and student engagement

Send class report after each session

Qualifications

Knowledge of chess rules, strategy, and gameplay a plus

Experience working with children or in educational settings a plus

Ability to manage a classroom effectively

Strong communication and organizational skills

Dependable, punctual, and professional

Must be able up pass a background check

Materials

No materials required — all chess supplies and curriculum materials will be provided
