What is chemotherapy?

Chemotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses drugs to destroy cancer cells. These drugs work by stopping or slowing the growth of cancer cells, which grow and divide quickly. Chemotherapy can be used alone or in combination with other treatments such as surgery, radiation, or immunotherapy. It is administered in cycles, and the method of delivery can vary, including intravenous (IV) infusion or oral medications. The specific drugs and schedule depend on the type of cancer and individual patient factors.
