Southern Cancer Center is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Lab Assistant to join our dedicated team at our Springhill Hospital location. Scope of Role
Under direct supervision, the Lab Assistant is responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens, performing basic analysis, maintaining lab equipment, and supporting patient flow. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate and timely lab results while upholding safety and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
✅ Key Responsibilities
  • Collect specimens from patients as ordered
  • Document and process lab results according to established procedures
  • Perform basic analysis of chemistry, hematology, and immunology specimens
  • Maintain lab inventory and ensure supply viability
  • Send specimens to reference labs and chart incoming results
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment under CLIA guidelines
  • Perform phlebotomy and sample collection as needed
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety protocols
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
