Salary/Hourly Rate:

$20/hr

Position Overview:

The Chemistry Lab Assistant supports the Research & Development team through hands-on laboratory testing and daily lab activities. This role is ideal for an early-career professional who enjoys practical lab work and thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment. The Chemistry Lab Assistant works Monday through Friday and is expected to be on-site and ready to begin work at 8:00 AM daily. The Chemistry Lab Assistant will support Scientists and senior lab staff in a dynamic R&D laboratory by performing a wide range of routine and technical tasks.

Responsibilities of the Chemistry Lab Assistant:

  • Assisting with sample preparation, testing, documentation, and general laboratory support.
  • Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to accurately weigh, measure, mix, and prepare materials.
  • Performing wet chemistry and instrumental testing to evaluate physical and chemical properties.
  • Operating and maintaining laboratory instruments in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and inspection-ready workbench and laboratory space.
  • Entering, reviewing, and verifying test data with attention to accuracy and traceability.
  • Managing chemical, sample, and consumable inventory to ensure supplies are stocked and organized.
  • Adhering strictly to all safety protocols to maintain a safe and professional laboratory environment.

Required Experience/Skills for the Chemistry Lab Assistant:

  • Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, including academic lab experience (e.g., General Chemistry lab coursework).
  • Hands-on experience handling chemicals, managing waste disposal, and documenting experimental results.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately.
  • Ability to independently calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot basic laboratory equipment.
