Chemist I
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Schedule: 3rd Shift | Sunday-Thursday | 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM
Pay: $25.00/hour
Position Type: 3-Month Contract-to-Hire
Position Overview
Our client, a global leader in the consumer products industry, is seeking a Chemist I to join their Finished Product Quality Services Laboratory in Cincinnati, OH. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career scientists to gain hands-on experience with a world-class organization supporting products in the personal care, health & beauty, hygiene, cosmetics, and life care industries.
The Chemist I will perform laboratory testing on bulk and finished products while ensuring compliance with GMP standards and supporting manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform testing of bulk products, finished products, and packaging materials following GMP requirements.
  • Conduct analytical testing including pH, viscosity, gas chromatography (GC), and basic wet chemistry.
  • Document laboratory results accurately within SAP.
  • Identify and communicate out-of-specification (OOS) results to Quality leadership and Production.
  • Release finished and bulk products in SAP in a timely manner.
  • Review batch and production documentation for accuracy and GMP compliance.
  • Support manufacturing and quality improvement initiatives through laboratory testing.
  • Maintain laboratory instrumentation through routine calibration, verification, and housekeeping activities.
  • Assist with raw material sampling using aseptic techniques as needed.
  • Support microbial testing preparations when required.
  • Participate in writing, reviewing, and updating SOPs and technical documentation.
  • Assist with training laboratory personnel on testing procedures as needed.
  • Follow all GMP, safety, and quality procedures.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or another related scientific discipline.
  • 0-2 years of laboratory experience (internships and undergraduate laboratory experience are welcomed).
  • Basic understanding of:
    • pH analysis
    • Viscosity testing
    • Gas Chromatography (GC)
    • Wet chemistry techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required.
  • SAP experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment is a plus.
