Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Primarily responsible to support the co-extruding of product, sanitation of the QX, Tower and RapidPak areas. Complies with all Safety, Food Safety, SQF, Product Quality, GMP's and USDA Requirements. Stays informed of schedule and changes as they occur. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
  • Under minimal supervision, ensure required materials are available and are used per the specification at beginning of shift.
  • Monitor the movement of product(s) to and from the room:
    • Take temperature reading on incoming combo
    • Ensure whistle tickets match item and count prior to accepting
    • Verify correct materials are delivered prior to issuing order
  • Verify required paperwork (i.e. QX, Tower, Smoke, Rapidpak checks, etc.) is signed and turned in daily.
  • Remove materials (i.e. packaging, trash, etc.) and ensure area is free of previous run items prior to changeover.
  • Breakdown area equipment prior to sanitation.
  • Ensure correct blends are being used for each item per specification.
  • Ensure QX, Tower and Rapidpaks are set to spec and in proper working order.
  • Ensure all transactions are made real time by designated associates.
  • Monitor sanitary conditions throughout the shift and assist with sanitation and wash downs as necessary to include combo washing.
  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • Intermediate math and computer skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate in English required.
  • Ability to read and understand specifications and the relationship to current job.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
  • Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time on a hard surface.
  • Ability to continuously work on a repetitive task with few breaks.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace and high speed work environment.
  • Ability to handle repetitive movement of the waist, shoulder, wrist, or back.
