You will operate mixing and measuring equipment, follow precise formulations, and verify that all materials and quantities are correct while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. The position requires frequent physical activity, including lifting, climbing stairs, and working around production tanks and machinery, as well as using computer systems to monitor and control tank levels. You will collaborate with a small, focused team and remain open to performing other work-related duties as assigned in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and weigh raw materials using scales and other measurement equipment, verifying that balances and quantities match the batch requirements.
  • Operate mixing and formulation equipment to combine raw materials and create final products according to established procedures.
  • Use cranes and other material-handling equipment to lift and move large bags of chemicals safely into tanks.
  • Push material out of bags and into mixing equipment using a large mixing device, ensuring complete transfer of product.
  • Climb stairs and access elevated platforms to work at the top of tanks while monitoring and managing the mixing process.
  • Use computer systems and control panels to operate machines that monitor and control tank levels and processing parameters.
  • Take product samples during production and deliver them to the laboratory for quality control testing.
  • Review and sign off on documentation to confirm that the correct materials and quantities were added at each step of the process.
  • Follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures while working independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and logs, demonstrating strong attention to detail.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing full uniforms, respirators, and other required personal protective equipment.
  • Work around moving equipment and mechanical parts while maintaining awareness of potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and biological hazards.
  • Support team members and collaborate with a small formulation team to meet production goals and timelines.
  • Perform additional work-related duties as assigned to support overall plant operations and production needs.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read and follow batch records, recipes, and production instructions accurately.
  • Experience checking balances and measurements to ensure correct amounts of raw materials are added.
  • Proficiency in measuring and handling chemicals and raw materials using scales and other measurement tools.

  • Demonstrated physical strength and stamina, including the ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfort working in a manufacturing or plant environment, including a chemical production setting.
  • Dependable work habits, including consistent attendance and reliability.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2–4 years of manufacturing experience preferred, with longer tenure valued.
  • Ability to learn quickly, listen actively, and collaborate effectively with a team.
  • Willingness to wear full uniforms, respirators, and other personal protective equipment as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience using RF scanners in a production or warehouse environment.
  • Experience in formulation, chemical mixing, or chemical production processes.
  • Hands-on experience with mixer operation and scale operation.
  • Exposure to quality control processes and working with lab personnel for product testing.
  • Prior experience as a production technician or in a similar manufacturing role.
  • Comfort working in a reserved, focused team environment where individuals are head-down workers.
  • Proactive, go-getter mindset with the ability to take initiative without presenting as a know-it-all.
  • Strong dependability and accountability, with readiness to discuss reliability in an interview.
